Greenville Man Sentenced for Posession with Intent to Distribute

COLUMBIA, SC—United States Attorney W. WALTER WILKINS stated today that KEOKI KENTA HARRIS, age 32, of Greenville, South Carolina, was sentenced today in federal court in Anderson, South Carolina, for possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, a violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 841(a)(1). Senior United States District Judge G. Ross Anderson of Anderson sentenced HARRIS to 188 months' imprisonment followed by four years of supervised release.

Evidence presented at the change of plea hearing established that HARRIS was arrested on September 17, 2008 after a search warrant was executed by Greenville County Sheriff's deputies at Motel 6 on Bruce Road in Greenville. Harris had over 15 grams of crack cocaine in his possession. Because he has two prior drug convictions he was sentenced as a career offender.

The case was investigated by agents of the Greenville County Sheriff's office and FBI. Assistant United States Attorney Jeanne Howard of the Greenville office handled the case.
