TOLL-FREE LINE ESTABLISHED FOR EASLEY-BASED CFS FRAUD CASE

Columbia, South Carolina---- United States Attorney W. WALTER WILKINS stated the following in connection with the prosecution of Daryl Batts, 46, of Easley, South Carolina, who operated as College Funding Solutions, Comprehensive Funding Systems and CFS, Inc.:

Bruce Byrholdt, of Anderson, South Carolina, has been appointed as the Court’s Receiver.  Part of Mr. Byrholdt’s duties are to seek to recover funds for defrauded investors.  Mr. Byrholdt has established a toll free telephone line for investors to call and report and receive information about the case.  That number is 866-435-7500, and it will be manned from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm.  After hours, a message may be left on extension 13.

Assistant United States Attorney David C. Stephens and FBI Special Agent Paul Jacobs are heading the investigation and prosecution of Batts.  Renee Mattox is the Victim-Witness Coordinator for the South Carolina United States Attorney’s Office.  Each of these three is available to assist victims in this case, however, the first point of contact should be a call to the Receiver.
