HOPKINS MAN INDICTED FOR LYING TO AGENTS IN
THREE HEBREW BOYS INVESTIGATION

Columbia, South Carolina ---- United States Attorney REGINALD I. LLOYD stated today that Joseph B. Brunson, Jr., age 20, of Hopkins, was charged in a two-count Indictment with making false statements to federal agents. The indictment charges Brunson with lying to FBI agents and U.S. Marshals last November regarding the location of a person subject to an arrest warrant, and with misleading agents regarding the ownership of a vehicle seized in the investigation. Brunson is the son of one of the self-described Three Hebrew Boys, Joseph Brunson, Sr.

Brunson, Jr., faces a maximum possible penalty of 10 years in prison and a $500,000.00.

Mr. Lloyd stated that the case was investigated by agents of the FBI and the United States Marshal’s Service, and that he has assigned the case to Assistant United States Attorneys Winston D. Holliday, Jr., and Mark Moore of the Columbia office for prosecution.

The United States Attorney stated that all charges in this Indictment are merely accusations and that all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
