PEE DEE DRUG DEALERS SENTENCED TO FEDERAL PRISON
COLUMBIA, South Carolina ----- United States Attorney W. Walter Wilkins stated that FREDERICK FRISALYN BURGESS, age 31, of Kingstree, and MATTHEW BROWN, age 23, of Florence, were sentenced by United States District Judge Terry L. Wooten to 264 months and 135 months imprisonment, respectively, for conspiracy to distribute crack.
Evidence presented during the guilty plea hearing established that Burgess and Brown were involved in a large drug conspiracy responsible for the distribution of multiple kilograms of crack in the Williamsburg County area. On numerous occasions during 2005 and 2006, both Burgess and Brown sold crack to confidential informants assisting SLED and the Williamsburg County Sheriff's Office.
The case was investigated by SLED, the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office, the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, and the FBI, and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney A. Bradley Parham of the Florence office.
