JOHNSONVILLE MAN SENTENCED FOR DRUG CONSPIRACY CONVICTIONColumbia, South Carolina ---- Acting United States Attorney Kevin F. McDonald stated that Michael Jerome Felder, age 33, of Johnsonville, South Carolina, was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment by United States District Judge Terry L. Wooten for conspiracy and distribution of crack and cocaine. Judge Wooten presided over the three-day trial last September. Evidence at trial established that Felder was part of a drug distribution network operating out of lower Florence County for at least the last eight years, responsible for distributing multikilogram quantities of crack and cocaine. Felder sold drugs on two separate occasions to confidential informants working for the Florence County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators also recovered more than 160 grams in two separate houses occupied at one time by Felder. In addition, witnesses admitted buying drugs from Felder dating back to 2000. The case was investigated by agents of the Florence County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant United States Attorney A. Bradley Parham of the Florence office handled prosecution of the case.
