COLUMBIA, South Carolina ---- A Denmark, South Carolina, man was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for his role in a long-term drug conspiracy in the Orangeburg area, involving kilograms of crack cocaine and cocaine.  United States Attorney W. WALTER WILKINS stated that KELVIN JEROD “J-5" HOLMAN, age 34, was sentenced in Columbia on the charge of conspiracy to possess and distribute 50 grams or more of crack cocaine and 5 kilograms or more of cocaine. United States District Judge Margaret B. Seymour of Columbia sentenced Holman to 360 months imprisonment with 5 years of supervised release to follow.

Evidence established that beginning in 1995 and continuing up until his arrest in 2005, Holman was involved in a drug conspiracy in the Orangeburg area.  During that time period, the members of the conspiracy were responsible for distributing large quantities of crack cocaine and cocaine.  Holman was personally responsible for the distribution of over 35 kilograms of crack cocaine and over 30 kilograms of cocaine.   24 members of the drug conspiracy have already been convicted and sentenced in federal court for their role in the conspiracy. 

The case was investigated by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.  Assistant United States Attorney Stacey D. Haynes of the Columbia office handled the case.
